Yes. Many people contribute to an employer 401(k) and also fund an IRA. Annual contribution limits apply separately to each account type.

For 2024, the standard IRA contribution limit is $7,000 ($8,000 if you are age 50 or older). Limits are reviewed annually by the IRS.
